With head offices in the city and state of São Paulo, the Company has as its proposition to ensure a differentiated long-term return to its shareholders and to act responsibly in relation to the other stakeholders. Ultra operates in the distribution and specialized retail segments through the intermediary of Ipiranga, Extrafarma and Ultragaz; the manufacture of surfactants and specialty chemicals via Oxiteno; and in liquid bulk storage through Ultracargo.
At the end of 2018, Ultra employed directly more than 17 thousand in Brazil – where it has a footprint in 85% of the country’s municipalities –, in Argentina, in Uruguay, in Venezuela, Mexico, the United States, Colombia, China and Belgium, maintaining administrative, commercial or manufacturing units. It is estimated that a further 90 thousand jobs approximately are created as a result of the Group’s operations, an example being the Ipiranga and Ultragaz reseller networks.
With a listing since 1999, Ultra’s shares are traded on the stock exchanges in São Paulo – B3 S.A. – Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão – B3 (UGPA3) and New York – NYSE (UGP). In Brazil, its securities are transacted on the Novo Mercado, a segment reserved for those companies with the best corporate governance practices.
In 2018, Extrafarma reached the mark of 433 drugstores and ranking among the five largest pharmacy chains in Brazil with a payroll of more than 7 thousand. With its origins in the states of the North and the Northeast, today Extrafarma has a footprint in 13 Brazilian states.
The second largest fuels and lubricants distribution network in the country, it spearheads an increasingly complete and digitized service station network in addition to am/pm units, the largest convenience store chain in Brazil.
Leader in the production of surfactants and specialty chemicals in Latin America, it recently unveiled a plant in the United States, increasingly expanding its international presence. The new industrial unit is additional to six plants in Brazil, three in Mexico, one in Uruguay and one in Venezuela.
The largest independent liquid bulk storage company in Brazil and operating out of the country’s principal ports. In all, there are 6 terminals, all of them installed in strategic locations in the Northeast, Southeast and South regions.
Pioneer and leader in the domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distribution market, the Company is a bellwether for innovation and maintains one of the most modern research and development laboratories in Latin America, continually creating solutions for use of the product.
